Your Pool Heater Heat Pump use the latest refrigerants which will either be R407c or R410a; which is in line with South African standards for refrigerants, ensuring they are Environmentally friendly. The system is a closed system to the atmosphere, meaning that there is no chance of damage to our planets atmosphere. PCOL Pool Heaters are extremely efficient particularly due to an unique dual titanium heat exchange coil design. The Titanium heat exchange coils ensure that the pool water and refrigerant are optimally coupled to give the best heat transfer from the Pool Heater Heat Pump.

Further Pool Heaters are extremely quiet ranging from 47db to 58db in noise on our domestic models. Basically, you will not hear your pool heater over your pool pumps noise. Noise should be a major consideration in the choice of your pool heater. No fun hearing your heat pump engaging in the middle of the night. All of our units come with an auto defrost function as standard and when you run your pool heater in very cold conditions, there is no cause for concern as the pool heater will defrost automatically.

A Pool Heater Heat Pump uses electricity to operate but they also use the solar warmed air which contributes to the efficiency of the pool heater unit.

Please Note: That Heat Pump Pool Heaters do not generate heat but only transfers it from one source to another. Your pool pump circulates the water through the heat exchange of the pool heater and warms up your pool water. The Pool Heater makes use of an environmentally friendly refrigerant to transfer heat from the solar heated air to your pool water.

The FAN circulates air through the outer EVAPORATOR AIR COIL (see pic below) that acts as a heat collector. The liquid refrigerant in the air coil absorbs the available heat in the ambient air transforming it into a gas. The refrigerant gas is then pumped into the COMPRESSOR. When this warmed gas is compressed, it intensifies or concentrates the heat like a magnifying glass does to the rays of the sun. This intensely heated gas is then pumped into the HEAT EXCHANGE CONDENSER (see pic below) where the actual heat transfer takes place.

As the pool water passes through the heat exchanger, the hot gas gives up its heat to the cooler pool water. The refrigerant returns to a liquid state and is pumped through the EXPANSION VALVE (see pic to the right) then into the evaporator air coil to start the process all over again. • We drain your swimming pool.
• We then prepare the old surface using a acid wash. If there is a old fiberglass lining we strip it out and then do an acid wash.
• We then chop/ chip to create a larger surface area and small "pockets" that ensure the marblite will bond to the walls and floor. We also inspect the pool for any concerns and then do minor pool repairs as needed before we continue.
• We then make a marblite and rock-bond (Bonding liquid) slurry that we cover the walls and floor with it. It soon sets and creates the ideal surface onto which we can Marblite with confidence.
• We then apply your new ceramic / glass mosaics under the copings and along the step edgings using white cement. If we are not replacing your mosaics, we cut in below them, and chip away below and around them as to create a thicker strong layer of flush marblite below and around your existing mosaics. However, we recommend replacing your old mosaics if they are worn and damaged, or have lost their grouting as they can be the source of a leaking pool.
• We then Marblite using the correct techniques, tools, consistency and thickness. We also add strengthening additives to the mixture. We hand mix all the marblite in the pool and in one exercise complete the Marblite application leaving no joints, and creating a smooth, consistent application to the entire pool surface. We do not over-trowl the surface which "burns" the marblite leaving dark patches where the rougher aggregates have been overworked and forced to the surface. This is a common mistake made by inexperienced applicators and creates a unsightly rough finish.
• We give you a 5 year warranty on our marblite lining workmanship.

• We drain your swimming pool.
• We then prepare the old surface using an acid wash. If there is a old fiberglass lining we strip it out and then do an acid wash.
• We grind and sand away any unwanted residue, dirt, etc.
• We then do minor pool repairs and also inspect the pool shell to ensure all is in good order before we continue.
• We cut a clean, neat grove under your copings, around your weir, aimflows and lights. We cut these groves to tuck the fiberglass into to ensure it is anchored in and cannot leak and pull away from the edges. After which we seal it with a resin based bonding putty.
• We then, in stages apply a clear primer Isopthalic resin layer, on to which we then apply another Isopthalic resin layer, into which we soak the 450g/m² fiberglass mat, which is then covered with another Isopthalic resin layer, sealing the 450g/m² fiberglass mat in.
• We very lightly sand the 450g/m² fiberglass and Isopthalic resin layers looking for imperfections and sharp edges removing them and doing a final inspection of the basic fiberglass lining before we continue.
• We then very neatly and accurately apply your tissue fiberglass mosaics underneath the copings and along the steps using a clear resin and a clear gel / top coat layer to seal it all in.
• We then apply a thick top / gel coat layer to these layers of resin, fiberglass and surface tissue, which is the final resin based layer that contains the colour and many of the water, chemical and UV resistant properties. (Sky-blue or white are the standard options, although other colours are available)
